My name is Kanta. I grew up in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada and these days you can find me in Komoro, Nagano, Japan, where I work as a freelancer for Outlier as an AI Trainer.
Before I landed at Outlier, I roamed the halls of the University of Victoria, earning a B.Sc. in Computer Science. Somewhere between late-night coding labs and elective design courses, I became hooked on the art of turning raw numbers into vivid, story-driven visuals—a fascination with data visualization and analysis that still fuels my work today. As an aspiring Data Analyst, I’m passionate about leveraging data to uncover insights and drive informed decisions.
During the week, you’ll catch me working on building my portfolio so one day I might be hired. I’m especially drawn to sport analytics, and I keep a running list of things I want to learn next—currently at the top: YOLO & Random Forest.
Outside of work, I recharge by golfing, going to the gym, and taking the occasional spontaneous trip to random towns in Japan. I built this site to keep track of what I’m learning and making; if something here sparks a thought, feel free to reach out—conversation is my favourite way to keep the curiosity rolling.
